The City of Portland is designing improvements for Division Street that include curb bump-outs, green street vegetated stormwater facilities and pedestrian safety upgrades. In addition, the sewer line under Division will be replaced and the street repaved. Construction will run along Division from 11th to Cesar Chavez Blvd. (39^th Ave.)

Project Timeline:

·        Design completion: March 2012

·        Construction start: June/July 2012

·        Thursday, January 26, 2012 - Open House with (BES/PBOT) design staff: 5:30 PM-8:00 PM, St Philip Neri, Carvlin Hall

·        June 2012 – Pre-construction Meeting: date still to be determined

What to Expect During Construction

·        Pre-construction preparation by other utilities may begin as early as March 2012

·        You will have access to your property during work hours, but you may experience delays.

·        On-street parking in the work area and some nearby areas will be prohibited during the project.

·        Your sewer and water service will be maintained at all times, even when work is near your property.

·        Open trench construction will be used to replace the sewer line under Division from 12th to Cesar Chavez Blvd. (39^thAve.)

Other Projects:

·        Railroad Crossing Project: pipe replacement along SE 11th and 12th Avenues, and Milwaukie, between Division and Powell. Construction underway and is scheduled for completion in May 2012.

·        Clinton Street Project: pipe replacement along SE Caruthers, Clinton and some side streets, as well as the construction of green street facilities. Construction starts in May 2012.

·        Ivon-Madison Project: green street project with work at SE 43rd and Division, and along 41st between Ivon and Tibbetts. Construction begins in June 2012.

·        Traffic enhancement project at SE 42^nd and Division will shorten pedestrian crossing and install a green street facility. Construction starts in May 2012.
